to the podcast it helps us reach even more amazing listeners like you today we're diving into a topic that every podcaster and thought leader thinks about how to grow your podcast audience but we're not just talking about tips or quick fixes we're focusing on the heart of what makes a podcast grow connect connection consistency and Community the first step in growing your podcast audience is understanding this people tune in because of you your voice your perspective and your authenticity are what creates a connection think about the podcast you love why do you listen because you feel a connection to the host to build this connection start with your why why did you start your podcast what do you want your audience to feel learn or experience when they listen share that passion openly when I launched the sheu it podcast I received the best piece of advice someone said to me make sure the podcast you start is on a topic that you're going to want to talk about every day it's easy to think about a topic that we might want to talk about occasionally but with a podcast I am obsessed with amplifying women's voices and Brands and talking about all things business from operations to building sustainable company cultures Business Development marketing social media it is what I love to talk about every day so when your listeners let you in you're inviting them to be part of your journey talk to them as if you're having coffee with a close friend acknowledge their challenges which we all have and celebrate their wins which is another thing I love to do connection is what turns a casual listener into a loyal fan who recommends your podcast to others now let's talk about the power of consistency and know I don't mean just sticking to a regular posting schedule though that's important too consistency is about showing up for your audience in a way that they can depend on when someone clicks subscribe they're making a commitment to your podcast and in return they expect you to consistently deliver value that value could come in the form of actionable advice thought-provoking conversations or simply a moment of entertainment in their busy day when I'm creating episodes for the Shep podcast I'm constantly thinking about how I can deliver the entertainment and knowledge thought leadership that you're looking for in the best possible way it's also about consistently evolving your audience needs and interests May shift over time and being in tune to those changes shows that you care ask yourself regularly what do my listeners need for me right now adjust your content to reflect their lives their challenges and their goals one thing that I love to talk about on the Sheil tip podcast is how social media podcasting platforms are always changing they're always evolving so one of my favorite things to ask is what tech do you implement into your business what platforms are you using to help your business grow that's something that is always changing and there are things that I always want to know I want to know the latest tech platform and app that I should be using for my business when you show up with consistency you build trust and trust is the foundation of growth finally let's talk about Community a podcast doesn't grow in isolation it thrives when it becomes a part of something bigger your listeners aren't just an audience you're part of the sheal community and as a podcaster with a community that's listening It's Your Role to nurture that Community start by inviting them into the conversation use social media email lists or even live events to create opportunity for connections ask questions respond to comments and let your audience know that their voice matters one of the best ways to nurture a podcast Community is celebrate your listeners share their story feature them in episodes and thank them for being part of your journey when your listeners feel seen and appreciated they'll want to share your podcast with others it is one of my favorite things to do to talk to you each week to chat with guests of the podcast from around the world and hear how I can bring you more value Community isn't built overnight but when you nurture it with care it becomes the driving force behind your podcast growth as we wrap up this episode I want to say thank you once again for spending your time with me this year your support your
