Speaker 1: gratitude where giving and being kind gives us all the feels just as much as receiving and achieving all that we accomplish by the end of 2022 as a listener you know at the end of each episode I ask guests what brings joy to their daily lives and how they make sure to find it I hope these five tips bring more joy to your life as we move into 202
Speaker 1: three one thing I've learned is that I'll get really overwhelmed sometimes because I want to do so much and help so many people and if I feel like I'm not doing it on my self-imposed timeline I've learned that Ana if it doesn't get done today yo it'll get done tomorrow and in that because I've learned that that's a trauma response that uh I've learned that that's a trauma response of mine I've learned to take a deep breath and enjoy the present moment and let tomorrow take care of tomorrow so enjoy today be present today and what you can do today you do today and in that release and in that permission and in that Grace that I've given myself I'm such so much more relaxed so much more
Speaker 2: joyful I get a lot of Joy from my clients and from the team and we're all friends and I love planning events and bringing people together and connecting and so doing this Wilder Winter Wonderland is so fun for me having this big Festival of just a way to say thank you I do like a networking group for the agents every
Speaker 2: month I think that's super fun I call it agent synonymous because we can get to share hi I'm Shelton I'm a real estate agent this is what's going on and I think it's really
Speaker 2: funny I got into this business because I love people I love meeting new people I love learning from people I'm interested in speaking with people who might have a different job or live in a different place or come from a different background I have always thrived on meeting people and learning from them
Speaker 2: and so what still gives me Joy about my job 22 years after I started it in Binghamton New York is just the fun that I have I write in my book I've interviewed 10,000 people over the last 22 years some of the stories are really tough I write about some of those in the book but I view it as a gift and an opportunity to be able to meet people and spend a career traveling around the
Speaker 1: state that I love New Jersey and meet and speak with so many people and and have them trust me with their stories because at the end of the day that really is what it requires these are their stories and I'm telling them and that does require a degree of Trust on their part which I hope I've earned I'm still trying every day to earn
Speaker 1: it my morning ritual is something that I do every single day that brings me so much joy it mostly consists of really looking at my goals for all the different parts of my life not just work also my health and my family my home dreams for the future and then I take that to a practical level and look at my calendar and look at how I'm spending my day and my week and how my schedule is reflecting my goals or not and I recalibrate where I need to and that's my number one one daily practice that helps me stay intentional with the way I'm spending my time and make sure that I'm creating time in my life for the things that matter most to me one of the things that ultimately
Speaker 1: brings me joy in general is when I have a really delicious beverage in hand when I think about all the experiences and I've been so grateful to have in life I've had you know a pretty rich career life I always had memories of what was I drinking at the time that I was doing those things anything that was an enjoyable thing that was refreshing to me and when I think back on it I also
Speaker 1: remember when I was a kid and when the farm hands were out in the field one of the things I loved to do so much was I loved to take coolers of drinks around I'd be on a tractor with a little wagon behind me and taking drinks to the field hands it just was always a part of something that I felt like was special in my day and so just that simply brings me en Joy being able to go out into this
Speaker 1: Warehouse where we make these incredible beverages where I'm just like how on Earth did I get to this point but when you stand there and you're just like wow we have 13,000 square feet of amazing delicious beverages that I made all of these I created all the recipes There's No Greater Joy than being able to step back and say wow like I I did this I did do this because even on your work days
Speaker 1: when everything's going to hell in a hand basket I still did this that still has to be a moment to spark Joy the ultimate thing in any Founders universe is when you see someone else enjoying what you've created there is no better feeling than seeing someone absolutely elated at what you have been at your most vulnerable to do and anytime you're a creator of any kind like you're really putting your vulnerability out there because you're taking the thing that you have worked so hard on whether physically mentally emotionally and you're really allowing other people to
